Red Hatters Take Over The Metrolink Train

 Posted by Hello

On October 11, 2004, members of several chapters of
the Red Hat Society® took a trip on the Metrolink train to
Union Station. There was an estimated one hundred Red Hat Ladies onboard and we filled up several cars on the train. We had traveling with us, a photographer and a correspondent from the Metro, who were there to do an article for their monthy magazine. The above photo is one of the photographer's photos and will be on the front cover of the November 2004 issue of the magazine.

Once we arrived in downtown Los Angeles, some of us headed over to Philippe’s for their famous French dip sandwiches. Others headed off to tour the Cathedral and others still, walked across the street to stroll through Olvera Street. After lunch some of us went shopping in the downtown garment and jewelry districts. Some of the ladies decided to forgo the shopping and returned home on the early afternoon train. All-in-all, it was a fun day. And isn't that what being a "Red Hat Lady" is all about?

Angelus Rosedale Cemetery for a "Living History Tour" We got to hear from some of it's more colorful "permanent residents" and we heard a little of the history of Los Angeles in the 19th century.

Having Fun At The Olive Garden

After the cemetery we went to lunch at the Olive Garden restaurant. Some of the ladies were having fun with some boys who were laughing at us. Rose Marie, our Queen Mother (in the center) wanted a picture taken with the boys.  Posted by Hello
